Charters and whatnot (life)

Another homeschool post for you all. I guess that's what you're going to be stuck with for the next 3 weeks at least!

Charters.....I've mentioned them before, as we've been with one ever since embarking on this homeschool journey, with the exception of one year where we had a Christian school at our church.

I think I may be done with them. While I've always valued the resources available through them, and also have been thankful for the accountability I have while under them, I am beginning to realize I am completely overwhelmed with their requirements and documentation.

After 4 years of basically doing our teachers work for her, grading, logging, reporting, and all, I am ready to throw in the towel.

The clincher is due to the fact that now the school we are with, while it's a wonderful support group and fabulous facility, they do not invest in the most up to date curriculum. They informed me they spend $30k per year on new curriculum; however, they cannot provide answer keys or full texts to many courses. Every Spanish course we got would not load on our pc-after weeks of hassling and trying to figure it out, the librarian tells me it can only be licensed for so many computers and because its so old probably won't work for me. Ok thank you for the heads up now that we've wasted 3 weeks!

That's just a tip of the iceberg as to my frustration. My poor over achiever daughter is losing her mind with failed login/password for her math which is an online course.

Needless to say, I am so thankful the year is almost over. This year has been beyond challenging to say the least.

Mother's Day marked the one year anniversary of leaving Chowchilla. Looking back, I have fond memories, yet it seems like light years away.

I still feel the bittersweet and mixed emotions regarding all the changes that have taken place this year.

I have no greater desire than to have peace in my heart and mind and to be exactly where God wants me to be. I am believing He has a plan and that He is revealing that plan in fullness soon.

Please continue to pray for our family. We are still acclimating to vast differences in our lives, as well as seeking His perfect will. I love you all.
